We would like to introduce you to the world of contemporary classical music. The Lonelinoise Collective is founded in 2020 by Sebastiaan Kemner and Vincent van Wijk, and aims to find different ways of communicating the wild and wondrous sounds of modern music to its audiences.
Especially in the challenging times we are all currently facing, we believe it is vital to stick our necks out and to keep exploring the unknown. Contemporary music may seem inaccessible, academic, or even ugly, at first, but so many powerful emotions, messages, atmospheres, affects, and ideas are hidden behind its rough façade. Just like other genres of music - and just like life itself - it can be beautiful, sweet, and comforting, as well as confronting, rough and nasty.
A three-part webcast about the power of contemporary classical music will be launched in SEASON 2020/2021. In this webcast we will especially look at how classical composers from the last seventy years (for instance Louis Andriessen, Claude Vivier, Isang Yun, Giacinto Scelsi, and John Cage) have dealt with their personal crises, and how this affected their music.
BESIDES THE WEBCAST, YOU CAN JOIN OUR SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM.
Watch, listen, enjoy, share, like and feel the power of the music.
